Let’s start with an easy one:
1. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat.
Think of this as counting to 10, but slower. When you realize your kid’s just knocked over an entire aisle display of Chips Ahoy at the supermarket, inhale slowly and deeply while you plan what you want to say. You’re on the way to school, and your son just dumped his sippy cup full of o.j. over his sister’s head? Take a couple of deep breaths and visualize yourself remaining calm. Waiting those few seconds before you react can make all the difference.
